We are all but sojourners on this earth.

Sojourner: a person who resides temporarily in a place.

God is very specific on how we treat sojourners.  We are to welcome them in our home.  To take them in and not forget.  Never to cast aside.  A stranger in a foreign land.  If we are all sojourners, we must all take care of each other.  Just some thoughts this morning...  The word popped into my head while I was in the shower, so I did a word study on it today.  These are just a few of my inferences.
