Friends are a blessing from above

In Turkey, on some Saturday mornings I would wake up early, prompted by God, to go out and meet up with some of the most God honoring women I have ever met, to pray.  It stirred in me a need for more prayer time with others in my life.  It helped me realize this is a real battle we are in that we can not see.  I loved that prayer time in the chapel and then also walking around the base "triangle" to pray for it and many of the needs that came up week after week on that base.  It was a tough place to live, but also a very fulfilling place to live at the same time.  I saw community there, something I thought I would miss coming back to Chicago.
However, God has blessed me greatly when a very good and trusted friend had asked me to pray with her every Saturday morning at a local park.   She asked me to think about it and get back to her.  I didn't even have to think about, I responded back immediately with a resounding, "YES!"  We've been praying together for two weeks now and I have already been blessed greatly.
Not only that, but two other good friends have asked us to dine with them within the past few weeks.  It's been tough with no furniture and then painting the whole house over and fixing up things that have broken.  For one thing, our electrical had problems and we were without power on one side of the house for about a week when God blessed us when one of Bogie's cousin showed up unexpectedly at our house and Bogie remembered that he was an electrical engineer.  That saved us a lot of money.  I have to look at the blessings right now and remember what God has done because I'm starting to get discouraged again.  I must trust Him.  He has a plan and will take care of us.  I will believe.  I have no other choice.  I will not deny His goodness when He has shown me personally His provision.

I will honor God this day.
