It was hot as usual and I heard a lot of complaining from the little ones right off the bat. "It's hot... I'm tired... Carry me... I'm thirsty..." Kiersten was crying and was asking to go home, but I didn't get to buy anything yet.
So Beth found us a little store where we could by 3 mini drinks for .75 American. What a life saver. That helped and I was able to do some shopping. I got a whole bag of fresh stuff for around $7 American, and it's all wonderfully tasty. This area of Turkey is known for it's produce. They call it the garden area or something like that. After we did our shopping, Beth had found a Turkish friend (Sala) who offered us a ride back to the base. Mind you, it wasn't far, but the kids were starting to complain again. Wonderful that we were able to get a ride back; another life saver.
A blessing happened this morning and an answer to prayer: we were asking God where we should stay, on base or off base? Well, this morning I got a call from the housing department and one of the newer (very beautiful) residences opened up in Eagle housing and she offered it to us. Four bedrooms and I hear they are beautiful, granite counter tops and new large kitchen. What a blessing! We asked someone to pray for us last night and the answer came the next morning. I'm giving thanks for the guidance and for the beautiful home we are able to use while we are here in Turkey. I'll post pics when we are able to move in, and that will be on Tuesday.
