Cappadocia

Bogie and I took a much needed trip together (just the two of us) to Cappadocia this past weekend.  It was just a two day and one night stay at a cave hotel, but it was wonderful nonetheless.  The group we went with was organized by an awesome friend here on base named Wendi.
Wendi and Becky
She is a rock star woman and a joy to be around.  We were the only couple who didn't bring their kids.  It would have been nice to bring the kids, especially since all the other families brought theirs, but Bogie and I planned on taking a weekend trip to Cappadocia before and it was cancelled on us.  So, when we were approached for this trip, we realized this was a nice chance to make that up.

Wendi planned this trip so she could spend time with her friend Becky who was coming to Turkey to visit and needed a group so we could take the bus.  This woman took her two toddler sons with some help from their friend/nanny on this trip without her husband.  I was so impressed with her energy and her willingness to make sacrifices (lack of comfort) for her friend.  All so her friend could see some of the best Turkey has to offer.  Even though it was only one night, it was a rough night, but she did not complain about it.  Her boys didn't nap either day we were on the bus and they needed that nap terribly.  Especially the second day.  I felt for this momma.  I've been there and remember what it was like when my kids didn't nap.  On top of this she's pregnant, but you'd never guess with the amount of grace, energy and giving this woman puts forth.  Thanks Wendi, it was a superb weekend with some superb people!
